To Sikkim And Back

Photograph@Arijit Sen--All Rights Reserved

Sikkim University, a 32 month university held its first convocation in Gangtok. I was most happy to be part of this grand moment. (Photograph) Gangtok from the hotel window.

The Kanchanjunga remained in a hide-and-seek mode for those ( like me) who woke up at 6 and not at 5 am.

It played HIDE with me mostly regardless of time. Maybe it was the wrong time of the year.

My Baba's theory is that the Kanchenjunga is a figment of the imagination, made up by certain people to taunt certain other people (like him) who consistently manage to miss it. It's hilarious the way he kept missing it, too. Every single time, by the time he turned up or turned around, the clouds would have covered it, even if it was only a matter of seconds.

He'll just have to time his visits better...I'm thinking Darje in winter.
